Vascular and Endovascular Procedures
Austin Vascular & Vein Specialists is a medical practice in Austin, TX dedicated exclusively to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the artery and veins, i.e. diseases of the circulatory system. Our Vascular Specialists are Board-Certified by the American Board of Vascular Surgery and are residency and fellowship trained in the newest Endovascular and Vascular Procedures. Our vascular doctors are very experienced in the latest minimally-invasive and catheter-based interventions and are also exceptional at performing traditional open vascular surgery, such as artery bypass, endarterectomy, vein phlebectomy, and open aneurysm repair.
We provide a wide spectrum of diagnostic and therapeutic options for our patients with vascular diseases (i.e. diseases of the blood vessels). We provide state-of-the-art care by utilizing the latest technologies, including the use of laser, stents, angioplasty balloons, atherectomy devices, catheters, and laparoscopy.
We are experts in minimally-invasive endovascular therapies. Endovascular procedures provide a minimally-invasive approach to the treatment of many vascular problems. Endovascular procedures are performed with the use of catheters placed into the arteries or veins of the body through a small needle puncture in the skin (usually in the groin). With the use of x-ray and ultrasound guidance, any abnormal blood vessel can be repaired with the use of stents, angioplasty balloons, lasers, atherectomy devices, or with the use of medications infused through the catheters. These methods of blood vessel treatments minimizes pain, scarring, and recovery time associated with interventional procedures or surgery. Endovascular techniques are applicable for the treatment of the majority of patients with cardiovascular, vascular, and vein conditions.
